Pretty Much

Long Story Short, I went to the movies and seen The Losers yesterday. I pretty much fell in love with different parts of this movie. Especially during Aisha's (Zoe Saldana) "sex scenes" they would play "U. R. A Fever" by The Kills. If you don't know or you have never heard of "The Kills"... I would say you are MOSDEF missing out and if you don't know who Zoe Saldana is, Where have you been hiding your whole life??
She is one BADASS, SEXYASS chick.
No Doubt About It.

Side Note:
If you haven't seen The Losers yet, QUIT READING!!
Now, Ya can't Say I ruined anything for you.

I really did NOT like the ending. They didn't even kill the guy (Max) that they had been looking for. The directors ended the movie like there's gonna be a sequel or something? I didn't like that. But I mean, Who wouldn't want another movie with Zoe Saldana in it?
Exactly.

awkward times

My sister and I were at a stop light. We had just got done having lunch at Tony's and drinks at Starbucks. We had a long night so we both looked like a complete wreck. We're on our way home from Starbucks and we're sitting at a ridiculously busy stop-light. I'm in the passenger side which is on the right side. I'm looking to right of me and I see some old man in a drop-top benz and I think "That's one Cool ass Old Man" & as I'm staring at him he waves....

Side Note:
----now this part of the story is usually normal. Old men like young fresh meat and they always seem to wave and say some sort of over- friendly "Hey" that we consider hitting on us... I know.... gross. But I'm thinking.. "We both look like complete shit. Hair isn't completely straightened. Last night's make-up and sleep deprived eyes have given us natural lovely Black Eyes.. sooooooo....WHY, OLD FLY MAN? Why!?"

Back to the story:

Me being as friendly as I am, I send him a big smile and returned his wave while my sister acts COLD AS DAY trying to ignore this WHOLE situation, This Old Fly Man rolls his window down. With my natural reaction I roll my window down as well. (What Was I Thinkng??) He gets his window down and says: "HEY, LADY. I'M YOUR COUNSELOR".... For a second, I was confused because I didn't recognize him.
Then It Hit Me- that THIS Old Fly Man that we thought was trying to "hit" on us turns out to be our old High School Counselor, Mr. Bob 'Snake' Legrand, who remembers us BOTH because we were always in his office COMPLAINING. I am totally aware that he seen how shitty we looked and how out-of-it we were because he asked us "How are ya ladies doing now??" ... We both smiled at him as the light turned green- my sister hit the gas and said "Heyyy, Mr Legrand! WE'RE FINE!!" and *ZOOOOM* better believe we totally hit that Left Turn with a quickness.

*hopefully that wasn't too boring. :)

yo no entiendo

Hello, Reality. I just wanted to tell you I hate having stupid dreams that are so freaking close to being nightmares... especially when I don't understand what's going on nor would I ever want THAT to come true because I woke up angry as fuck at the person that was in it.

Love,

SweetieBam.

Brainwash.

Devon White has 23 tools for you to brainwash the world if you'd like, how about that? Enjoy.

1. The key to truly effective brainwashing is to work at people’s most fundamental awareness. Shape them at the neurological level so they develop the faculties to take your input and call it “thinking for myself.” Enable them to stop thinking.

2. Limit any and all faculties for self-awareness and self-sensing. Destroy instinct and intuition. Actively and endlessly encourage external awareness. Make people dependent on your external input for as many decisions as possible.

3. Speed up messages so that the pace and rhythm of information is disorienting and visually biased.

4. Condition people to being bombarded with hundreds of thousands of signals a day. Teach them to attend to this stream of information and to call it Reality. Never let them ask what “reality” is.

5. Framing is everything. Decide what you want people to believe and make sure that any choices you give them are within a framework which assures you of your result. This is called the Illusion of Choice. “Do you want to sweep the floor before or after dinner?” Repeat this formula for economic systems, politicians, news stories, competing product brands and entertainment.

6. Appeal to the lowest common denominator. Make sure that all shows model conflict resolution of people with an emotional and intellectual maturity no greater than that of a six year old. Make it funny so no one notices.

7. Keep people passive. Encourage the Couch Potato Alpha Wave Escape Plan as the healing elixir for all that ails.

8. Don’t make people think. Their days are hard enough as is. Bypass the need for opinion making by giving people ready-made opinions. Do it as though you don’t have a conscience – they are probably too stupid to make their own decisions anyway.

9. Ensure that there are no ongoing storylines with meaning or purpose beyond immediate sensory stimulation. Avoid universal themes as much as possible. Make absolutely certain there is no cultural, societal or global story or mythology present that conflicts with the myths of comfort and consumption.

10. Never encourage responsibility, or so much as suggest that humans could be involved in co-creating their future and the realities in which they reside.

11. Encourage group-sanctioned individuality only. By making ‘individuality” the new conformity you are generating a powerful illusion of free choice.

12. Sensationalize the superficial.

13. Keep information bytes infinitesimally small. Promote Attention Deficit Disorder. Several decades of television have already set this in motion.

14. Repetition is key. Repeat important messages as often as possible.

15. Repetition is key.

16. Repetition is key.

17. Bypass rationality by any means possible. People don’t need logic to accept information. Belief is emotional. Always remember: WAR=PEACE.

18. Remember –- two half-truths make up a whole truth.

19. Demonize self-knowledge technology of all kinds. Throw around words like “cult” and “brainwashing.” Marginalize anyone involved in such pursuits.

20. Keep old models of consciousness alive and well. If you can get away with referring to people’s states as being phlegmatic or sanguine instead of programmable and intentional, do it.

21. Keep people’s attention on what really matters. Emphasize what’s wrong as much as possible.

22. Always give the impression that Everything Is Under Control – but just barely so – hammer into the populace the idea that their greatest fear could strike at any moment.

23. Teach people that they are their thoughts and emotions. Reinforce this by teaching them to feel bad about their ideas, and to feel bad about feeling bad. Remember: Identify, identify, identify –- this will widen the empty void inside of them that only shopping can cure.

By sticking to these simple premises you should be able to produce entire societies capable of ending world hunger, but too selfish to care. You will be able to bring about massive consumer mindsets and buying habits so powerful that logic and reason become superfluous in making the sale. You will be the new face of media. Good luck!

Companion.

There was a hopelessness that permeated my world, emanating from my skin, soaking into all my organs.
My stomach no longer even bothered to curl at the sight of failure.
Instead, it swallowed its growls, seeking nourishment in it.
I decided to leave.
A foreigner stopped me on my rise toward the stars.
He had kaleidoscope eye's, he could see almost anything from any angle, he only had one true love that he kept close to him in a case.
Laid before him was a notebook and a pen.
"Stay for a game," he said to me.
"After you win your game with me I'll let you go on your way."
Without hesitance I dismissed legs, planted myself in front of him and began to play. He spoke of a story he once heard about the stars, and with my left hand coiled around the pen I breezed across the paper, cutting the intoxicated mist around him with rhythmic motions, leaving a map of blue lines and an invitation.
He declined.
I lost.
So we played again.
This time I drew a picture of the sky.
We traveled for two year's and played many similar games, then one day the ground swallowed him whole.
There was nothing I could do, but I hope he makes it to the stars one day.
I still have his favorite sweater.

This is the first thing I have written in at least 5 years.

Perspective.

He bested the heroes, killed the defenders, overtook the world.
Then he killed the narrator and he was the villain no more.

Long exposures leave you a bit warped.

STING

I am gutted that I wont be able to attend any of Sting's tour dates. He'll be at Woodlands, Texas on June 25th at The Woodlands Pavilion! TICKETS 120+ .. doubt I'll be in that thang.

"She's not a girl who misses much
Do do do do do do, oh, yeah

She's well acquainted
With the touch of the velvet hand
Like a lizard on a window pane
The man in the crowd with the
Multicolored mirrors on his hobnail boots

Lying with his eyes
While his hands are busy working overtime
A soap impression of his wife
Which he ate and donated to the National Trust

I need a fix cause I'm going down
Down to the bits that I left uptown
I need a fix cause I'm going down

Mother Superior jump the gun X 5

Happiness is a Warm Gun. "

Hurt causes Anger. Anger causes Rage. Rage is the hidden truth which causes what we think are irrational actions and words. Which summons the other word: Revenge.

Blue lines

hand crafted

it's about the love and the work put in. not the random outcome.

shadows

Summer time brings shadows. Wonder what you look like? Look in the mirror and not at the ground. Shadows make you tall and way skinnier than what you truly are. A mere imitation of what object is caught between the light that's given off by the sun. Shadows are deceiving and they are the darker you. But isn't every shadow something you're not? Never be an imitation or anybodies shadow. You'll just be the on the ground-low, dark, and deceiving.
Nobody needs an extra one... following them around.

creativity at it's finest

near UTA there is this place called "Mavericks Place" and it's all student housing. Well in the elevator you'll find this exact sign at the front where all the buttons are and then at the back you'll find a dismantled camera and a demolished smoke alarm.
I find humor in it.
(Shout Out to all the rebels)

get you some

Korea Town;

The place where the Guppies scream "EAT ME."

it sounds the same

don't you hate when you sing a song and
you say the lyrics like they sound. then someone tells you
"No, that's not what they're saying. Google the lyrics! I swear I'm right!"
then like they said, they were right and
you look dumb for singing the wrong lyrics.

well THAT happened here.

SONG: Fugees - Fu Gee La

it should read
:
"Oooh La La La, It's the way that we rock when we're doing our thang
Oooh La La La,It's the natural LA that the Refugees Bring
Oooh La La La La La La Lalala La Laaah,
Sweeeeet Thing"

yes, "LA" not "LIGHT".

Chocolate covered strawberries are full of love.
Strange thing is, this strawberry was a little
sour which left a nasty after taste.
You'll never know how "good" it is til'you try it.
get some.

the truth is

"It doesn't matter what's on the outside.
What matters most is the good on the inside."

& yes, they were great on the inside :)

innocence at it's finest

SOMETIMES children have no idea what they're doing while riding in the back of an El Camino or at any crazy time in their worry-less life. I mean, giving The Bird to the camera still can't take away from their innocence as long as they look cute while they're doing it right??

Casting Shadows

The other night I was a at a friend of mine's, it was dark and the only light was coming from the moon through 3 massive windows that make up the east wall. His camera, a T-shirt and a bottle of water in a pile across the room cast a shadow that resembled a head and my heart screamed! I was immediately reminded of Tim Noble and Sue Webster, the artistic duo based out of London who reminds me that "Nothing is as it seems."
